"When friends become
memories,
memories become
treasures."
03/18/1990 - 01/06/2007
I just wanted to let everyone know that I had to help Bo to the Rainbow
Bridge last night.
It was the hardest thing I've ever done in my entire life and I
am absolutely lost and heartbroken without him. He was my baby and
with me
through the last 17 years of our lives. I don't know what I am going
to do
without him. He was my best friend and I'm so very sad right now.
I can't stop
crying, everything seems like nothing without him.
I had him for almost 17 years -
8 of those years with diabetes - and I know I should be grateful
to have had
such a long time with him but I can't see that right now. I just
miss him so
much. Little Bit walks through the house crying looking for him
and it breaks my
heart all over again.
I am so thankful for all of you and the list for the
past 8 years helping us through everything. I know so many have
lost their
babies and I only hope time does make it a little easier because
right now I feel
like the world has ended. I have lost one of the best parts of me
and I don't
know what to do.
Please give all of your furbabies an extra hug from me today.

Here is Prinnie's beautiful story:
"14 years ago in 1993, my mother and I went to an AKC Keeshond breeder's
house to
look at a pup that was recently whelped. This 8-week-old bundle
came bouncing
out (quite literally) and it was love at first sight. Since
her mother's name
was Duchess, I named her Dutch Princess II, nicknamed "Prinnie."
Last
Saturday morning, Prinnie was helped by our vet to slip beyond the
bounds of
this world and onto the next toward Heaven. My father who
passed away in 2001
will meet her on the other side of the Bridge. You see, she
was his love also
and I know he will extremely happy to see her coming to him.
All who met her
said what a wonderful girl she was. We traveled to Texas with
her when she
was just a pup in our camper and she also went camping with us on
many other
occasions. One of my fondest memories camping with her was when
she was
"chasing bunnies" at the Navy Rec Center campground near Solomons,
Maryland.
There must have been dozens of bunnies that came out and she ran
this way and
that way chasing them in a dozen directions at once. Many
have been blessed
by her presence while she was here, including those in military
hospitals like
Malcolm Grow at Andrews A.F.B. and the Maine Veterans Home, where
I sometimes
took her as a therapy dog for my father who was quite ill.
A full-bird
Colonel at Andrews gave us the OK to bring her up to dad's room.
Everyone was
so delighted to see her there, especially dad who was thrilled with
the
surprise. It was truly amazing. She had the most loveable
spirit of any dog
I have known. Despite her numerous medical problems with diabetes,
Cushing's,
blindness and severe hip dysplasia, she would still play ball or
raise her
ears when I whistled. Even as the end of her life here was
near to an end and
she was laying in my lap in the vet's waiting room, I whistled and
she cocked
her head and raised her ears. We can comfort now knowing that
she can see
again and can run and play without pain among the green grasses
of Heaven.
She has passed on and we will miss her, but her spirit will live
on forever
with our many wonderful memories of her.
Passing on our love and thanks to the Muffinites all over,
Lotsa Hugs and Sloppy Kisses,
John and Prinnie (dd, dx diabetes 1/23/01, dx Cushing's 11/15/01,

To Rainbow Bridge March 11, 2007
Muffin was the 14 year old companion of Jeanne Saben. She was diagnosed with diabetes, kidney disease and hypertension on March 02, 2007. Sadly, it was more than her little body could deal with.
Walk with the angels, little one.
