Muffin Pet Diabetes Mailing List

This pet diabetes mailing list is for discussion of issues related to diabetic pets and their problems.

The members of this list have varying degrees of experience with diabetes, including some who have been caring for a diabetic pet for 6 years or more.

Members are joined with a common goal - to help each other understand and deal with this disease and in so doing, support each other.

This list, and the petdiabetes.net web site, are not here to substitute for your veterinarian. We ask that you discuss any information you find here with your veterinarian before making any changes to your pet's regimen.

List Rules:

Be polite and respectful of each other's feelings and opinions.

Post only messages related to the care of your pet and your pet's health or in response to other messages.

Appropriate topics might include:

The medical and general care of your pet

Ways to care for your diabetic pet

Coping with this disease

Supplies and techniques

Any related health issues that your diabetic pet may encounter - such as blindness, urinary tract infections, and neruopathy

Medications

Travelling with a diabetic pet

Anecdotes, anniversaries, personal experiences, etc.

Writing to the List:

This is a high volume Email list - if you find the number of messages overwhelming, please contact me an I will switch you to the digest version which comes out approximately once a day.

- Send your message in text format only. Please contact me if you need help with this.
- Ensure your subject line reflects the body of your message. This allows a "thread" of a discussion to be followed and allows those who are not interested to delete the messages without having to read them.
- When replying to a message, please delte any text from the original message that doesn't relate to your reply.
- Advertising is not permitted.

To subscribe, send a message to majordomo@netwrx1.com with the subject line blank and the appropriate text (as below) in the message:

You will receive a welcome message. After you receive your welcome message you can post messages to the list. The address to post messages to the list is muffin@netwrx1.com.

Subscribe to the digest

The digest is compiled from all messages posted since the previous digest. Depending on the volume, there is at least one digest per day, sometimes more. If you receive the digest, you still post messages to the list using the muffin@netwrx1.com address. Messages cannot be posted to the digest.

Asa refresher, this is how a mailing list works.

The list address is muffin@netwrx1.com. Everyone who belongs to the list can access this address and when you send a letter to this address, it is delivered to all the list members. That is why you may suddenly be getting mail from "complete strangers" but don't worry, they won't be strangers long!
